Salt Storm
Salar de Uyuni, Altiplano, Bolivia
Low sunlight painted the rolling salt cloud in shades of orange, adding drama to this phenomenon which frequently takes place at the Salar de Uyuni. In minutes, all the photo workshop participants, myself included, were running to our cars with visibility dropped to several yards. We ended up totally engulfed in a thick sea of swirling salt—a result of the wind sweeping over the world’s largest salt flats.
The work was showcased in Nature’s Best Photography Awards Exhibition @ Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC
