Wildlife in my backyard
All photos in this series were taken either in our own backyard or in a small park right next to our house in the Arlington Club Community, Wheeling, IL, USA. I took some wildlife photos in our area previously, but a major part of this collection was taken during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. All my workshops for 2020 were canceled and I had extra time to look outside through the patio door and take an occasional stroll in our small park. I started by installing bird feeders and was amazed by the amount and variety of birds living in our area. Chipmunks and squirrels were also common visitors to the bird feeders and I was fascinated by their ability to scale any barriers when looking for food. I also discovered that some larger mammals are present in the close proximity to our house, and had a chance to photograph raccoons, skunks, and even coywolf. Keep your shutter clicking - there is always something worth photographing!
